Oakland High School Construction Updates

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Originally constructed in 1912 as an elementary school, Oakland High School is now 108 years old and on the City of Tacoma's register of historic places. During its remodel, the outside will remain intact while the inside will be improved. While their school is being remodeled, Oakland students will go to school at the former McKinley Elementary

Expected opening: September 2025

This project is funded by the $535 million school construction bond voters passed in 2020.
